Greetings Parents!
UPDATED FOR OCTOBER 1ST, 2014!!!
Welcome to the Hyde Band Blog! Band has started in the cafeteria at Hyde! We are currently in the process of trying to contact band parents who have not had a conference. If you happen to be one of those parents, please be expecting a phone call soon or please e-mail me at jeffrey.siasoco@sjsd.k12.mo.us. I am looking forward to conversing with you about the awesome experience you have opened up for your child.
PARENTS:
We are currently working on playing our first noises on our instruments.
What you should be hearing:This week, we have opened our books for the first time. Students are suppose to be working on controlling sounds that resemble 3 notes (G,F,E for Clarinets and Trumpets, F, Eb, D for Flutes, Trombones, and Percussion).
How You Can Help:
Be encouraging! Try not to wince.... Laugh at some mistakes, but marvel at their attempts!
Find them a place to practice with no distractions (pets, other family members, television...)
Ask your student to show how they put his or her instrument together and where they can find the fingerings for our first 3 notes.
